Water Elemental Skills?
Yeah, so I'm a NOOB...
I've created a Ranger with a secondary of Elementalist. I've found a skill trainer, but he doesn't list any water based skills to train. Did I spork something when I picked Elementalist... or am I just impatient and need more levels? Thanks! |

Not all trainers have everything from memory. I really cannot answer your question for sure as I don't know what trainer and level you are at. Water elementalist is my main profession. Usually fire magic skills were the first I found, but I just waited and searched. Some of our armor is even tough to find. Air elementalists are the same way from what I can tell.
I like water skills, but it is not for everyone. We have a lot of AOE type skills, therefore you get close to the action. The good thing is that you get plenty of slows and some fair damage so you can help your group for sure. Don't underestimate the slows we have though as they have saved many a character or henchman. I am having to try different setups now as I may should set up my points in four skills instead of three possibly. I consider myself still a noob for what it is worth even though I am about to hit level 20 with this character. |

The thing with Elementalist in PvE is you'll see a lot of Fire based spells and not much else for a while. It's annoying when you want to be an effective Water or Air Elementalist and be forced to find them.
I'm not much of a gwonline.net fan anymore as the link AkimbO listed, but here's where I go for my skill listings. http://www.guildwiki.org/guildwars/index.php/Main_Page More specifically for you, http://www.guildwiki.org/guildwars/i...ocations_Table Goodluck, Water magic is very well underestimated by a lot. |

Well, the reason it was underestimated was because the other elements had skills that would have the same effect, yet just better. This was somewhat fixed in the patch, about time!!

For the first half of PvE I was consigned to Fire by the skills provided. But now i've got to Maguuma I've found I can play effectively as a Geomancer too. Hydro and Aero spells are still looking a bit weak by comparison, and i'm still mostly using Fire as Meteor Storm is very effective for disabling and killing grouped thugs, whereas Geo is better at protecting, but I don't feel so limited any more. Plus the tweaks have improved the Fire skills too. Until recently I had ditched my Ele and was playing a Necro, but revisiting there's more life in the Elementalist who isn't so boring as he used t be.
